【摘要】:ManyindustrialprocessesrequiredeterminationofNMOCintheatmosphere.AccuratemeasurementsofambientconcentrationsofNMOCareimportantforthecontrolofphotochemicalsmogbecausetheseorganiccompoundsareprimaryprecursorsofatmosphericozoneandotheroxidants(7,8).TheNMOCconcentrationstypicallyfoundaturbansitesmayrangeupto1to3ppmCorhigher.Inordertodeterminetransportofprecursorsintoanarea,measurementofNMOCupwindoftheareamaybenecessary.RuralNMOCconcentrationsoriginatingfromareasfreefromNMOCsourcesarelikelytobelessthanafewtenthsof1ppmC.Conventionaltestmethodsthatdependongaschromatographyandqualitativeandquantitativespeciesevaluationareexcessivelydifficultandexpensivetooperateandmaintainwhenspeciatedmeasurementsarenotneeded.Thetestmethoddescribedhereinvolvesasimple,cryogenicpreconcentrationprocedurewithsubsequentdirectdetectionwiththeFID.ThetestmethodissensitiveandprovidesaccuratemeasurementsofambienttotalNMOCconcentrationswherespeciateddataarenotrequired.Anapplicationofthetestmethodisthemonitoringofthecleanlinessofcanisters.Anotheruseofthetestmethodisthescreeningofcanistersamplespriortoanalysis.Collectionofambientairsamplesinpressurizedcanistersprovidesthefollowingadvantages:Convenientintegrationofambientsamplesoveraspecifictimeperiod,Capabilityofremotesamplingwithsubsequentcentrallaboratoryanalysis,Abilitytoshipandstoresamples,ifnecessary,Unattendedsamplecollection,Analysisofsamplesfrommultiplesiteswithoneanalyticalsystem,Collectionofreplicatesamplesforassessmentofmeasurementprecision,andSpecifichydrocarbonanalysiscanbeperformedwiththesamesamplesystem.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforsamplinganddeterminingconcentrationsofnon-methaneorganiccompounds(NMOC)inambient,indoor,orworkplaceatmospheres.1.2Thetestmethoddescribesthecollectionofcumulativesamplesinpassivatedstainlesssteelcanistersandsubsequentlaboratoryanalysis.1.2.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureforsamplingincanistersatfinalpressuresaboveatmosphericpressure(referredtoaspressurizedsampling).1.3ThistestmethodemploysacryogenictrappingprocedureforconcentrationoftheNMOCpriortoanalysis.1.4ThistestmethoddescribesthedeterminationoftheNMOCbythesimpleflameionizationdetector(FID),withoutthegaschromatographiccolumnsandcomplexproceduresnecessaryforspeciesseparation.1.5Therangeofthistestmethodisfrom20to10000ppbC(1,2).Seeforproceduresforloweringtherange.1.6Thetestmethodmayyieldlessaccurateresultsforsomehalogenatedoroxygenatedhydrocarbonsemittedfromnearbysourcesofindustrialairpollutants.Thisisespeciallytrueiftherearehighconcentrationsofchlorocarbonsorchlorofluorocarbonspresent.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareregardedasstandard.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
