【摘要】:Liquidpenetrantexaminationmethodsindicatethepresence,location,and,toalimitedextent,thenatureandmagnitudeofthedetecteddiscontinuities.Thistestmethodisnormallyusedforproductionexaminationofcriticalcomponentsorstructureswhen(a)removalofexcessiveamountsofpenetrantfromdiscontinuitiesusingawater-washableprocesscanbeaproblemand(b)theuseofahydrophilicremoverisimpractical.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforfluorescentliquidpenetrantexaminationutilizingthelipophilicpost-emulsificationprocess.Itisanondestructivetestingmethodfordetectingdiscontinuitiesthatareopentothesurfacesuchascracks,seams,laps,coldshuts,laminations,throughleaks,orlackoffusionandisapplicabletoin-process,final,andmaintenanceexamination.Itcanbeeffectivelyusedintheexaminationofnonporous,metallicmaterials,bothferrousandofnonmetallicmaterialssuchasglazedorfullydensifiedceramicsandcertainnonporousplasticsandglass.1.2Thistestmethodalsoprovidesareference:1.2.1Bywhichafluorescentliquidpenetrantexamination,lipophilicpost-emulsificationprocessrecommendedorrequiredbyindividualorganizationscanbereviewedtoascertainitsapplicabilityandcompleteness.1.2.2Foruseinthepreparationofprocessspecificationsdealingwiththefluorescentpenetrantexaminationofmaterialsandpartsusingthelipophilicpost-emulsificationprocess.Agreementbythepurchaserandthemanufacturerregardingspecifictechniquesisstronglyrecommended.1.2.3Foruseintheorganizationofthefacilitiesandpersonnelconcernedwiththeliquidpenetrantexamination.1.3Thistestmethoddoesnotindicateorsuggeststandardsforevaluationoftheindicationsobtained.Itshouldbepointedout,however,thatindicationsmustbeinterpretedorclassifiedandthenevaluated.Forthispurposetheremustbeaseparatecodeorspecificationoraspecificagreementtodefinethetype,size,location,anddirectionofindicationsconsideredacceptable,andthoseconsideredunacceptable.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.SIunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.1.5Allareasofthisdocumentmaybeopentoagreementbetweenthecognizantengineeringorganizationandthesupplier,orspecificdirectionfromthecognizantengineeringorganization.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
