【摘要】:ThispartofISO14577specifiesamethodfortestingcoatingswhichisparticularlysuitablefortestinginthenano/microrangeapplicabletothincoatings.Thistestmethodislimitedtotheexaminationofsinglelayerswhentheindentationiscarriedoutnormaltothetestpiecesurface,butgradedandmultilayercoatingscanalsobemeasuredincross-sectionifthethicknessoftheindividuallayersorgradationsisgreaterthanthespatialresolutionoftheindentationprocess.Thetestmethodisnotlimitedtoanyparticulartypeofmaterial.Metallic,non-metallicandorganiccoatingsareincludedinthescopeofthispartofISO14577.TheapplicationofthispartofISO14577regardingmeasurementofhardnessisonlypossibleiftheindenterisapyramidoraconewitharadiusoftipcurvaturesmallenoughforplasticdeformationtooccurwithinthecoating.Thehardnessofvisco-elasticmaterials,ormaterialsexhibitingsignificantcreepwillbestronglyaffectedbythetimetakentoperformthetest.NOTE1ISO14577-1,ISO14577-2andISO14577-3defineusageofinstrumentedindentationtestingofbulkmaterialsoverallforceanddisplacementranges.NOTE2TheapplicationofthemethodofthispartofISO14577isnotneedediftheindentationdepthissosmallthatinanypossiblecaseasubstrateinfluencecanbeneglectedandthecoatingcanbeconsideredasabulkmaterial.Limitsforsuchcasesaregiven.NOTE3Theanalysisusedheredoesnotmakeanyallowancesforpile-uporsink-inofindents.UseofAtomicForceMicroscopy(AFM)toassesstheindentshapeallowsthedeterminationofpossiblepile-uporsink-inofthesurfacearoundtheindent.Thesesurfaceeffectsresultinanunder-estimate(pile-up)orover-estimate(sink-in)ofthecontactareaintheanalysisandhencemayinfluencethemeasuredresults.Pile-upgenerallyoccursforfullywork-hardenedmaterials.Pile-upofsoft,ductilematerialsismorelikelyforthinnercoatingsduetotheconstraintofthestressesinthezoneofplasticdeformationinthecoating.Ithasbeenreportedthatthepiledupmaterialresultsinaneffectiveincreaseofthecontactareaforthedeterminationofhardness,whiletheeffectislesspronouncedforthedeterminationofindentationmodulus,sincethepiledupmaterialbehaveslessrigidly[1],[2].
